A little series of pages I like to call the ToasterKingdom.
(for lack of a better name)
especially by exposure to electrically heated wire coils. |
This site is worst viewed at 3 x 25600 resolution with 2 colors which are both the same shade of purple.
So you've managed to squeeze your way into my little pavilion, a little speck buried in millions of scrambled mindless code distributed among the infinite wavelengths. These pages are, as always, a work in progress, so if you find anything of interest, and even if you don't, bookmark this page and come back! To reward you on the effort you put forth in getting here, I'm going to provide some content for you to look at so you don't poof off as quickly as you came. The site, which in the beginning consisted of a single page, is getting damn big, and this page in particular is too damn long. I could redesign it, but I'm too lazy. This site consists mostly of things that represent myself and the things I am interested in. So, to kick things off:
First, sign my guestbook!
(Or at least sign before you leave!)

wandering lost souls since 4/10/99 have meandered mindlessly among the electrons carried by hundreds of wires, waded through the twisted infrastructure of this mess of meaningless data and packets we call the Internet, and somehow managed to find my teeny tiny little page among the billions lurking beneath the surface, just out of sight.
This page is organized into several categories, including links throughout. The categories are:
Who the hell am I?!
Salutations
Why you should consider a Macintosh
The Apple IIGS home
computer

If you think there is too much information on this page, try the no-images-and-barely-any-text page.
Finding what you want too easily? Try the disorganized and sloppy page.
But of course, there's not too much I can explain here, because as
some guy once said, experience is only reached through confrontation.
So step up and meet the king of toasters! I
love getting email, so don't think you're wasting my time. And don't
be afraid to talk to me, because I'm making a promise to you right
now that I won't think you're horrible before I even know you. I try
to disregard first impressions as a basis for evaluating one's
personality, because first impressions suck. I'm making a solid
commitment not to prejudge you, so what do you have to lose?
TALK to me!

Want a cheap laugh? Here's "a page saluting my drunkenness".
I wanna give a howdy-doo there to the following people:
Sherry Pittman, a.k.a. "Angel". Someone who has just met her might say she's cute and interesting (and that she definitely is), yet quiet and reserved. But beneath the angelic exterior is a piercing intellect, a heart of platinum, and the most fun personality your earthly eyes will ever encounter. Sherry is more than just my girlfriend; she's more than I ever could have hoped for. She's made me happier than anyone ever has, and is truly the sweetest and most loving person I have ever met. So many things I've found were missing in my life, I've seen fulfilled through her (and I hope she feels the same). She's a constant reminder that some chances are worth taking, and if loving is a mistake, it's worth making. And though we're worlds different, together we have everything. I love you, Sherry!
I also wanna give a shout-out to Dark Phoenix (homepage). I should mention that he is my partner in crime, and if you approach us with a bad attitude, we shall beat you down with a big fat kielbasa. Heehee, I guess that's just me revealing a smidgen of my tough side in proclaiming of my love for the guy. Phoenix is one of the coolest, most intelligent dudes I have ever met, not to mention a great, dedicated friend. Don't believe me? Read his tribute page!
I also wanna wave hi to my buddy ApplJuce (homepage). I'd tell you more about him, but I can't think of anything else to say. Some flattery, eh?
I wanna give a big hug to Jeska (homepage), a chick I met at work who is really really awesome, intellectual, poetic, and sweet. But go to her homepage and sign her guestbook and tell her that, because she doesn't realize it.
I wanna give a bigass hugeass big bear hug and lotsa kisses to Sarahbear, a really awesome person I met in May of '99 who rules so much that she kicks the ass out of big monstrous tacos and totally mutilates giant talking meatballs that try to destroy our sexual supply stores! I love ya Sarah, and I'll make those dancing hamsters for ya, I swear! =)
I also wanna give a howdy-doo there to Tivona, Avril, Mrs. Y, Jon (homepage), Shannon (homepage), Zaviera, Linda Bear (kindergarten class page), Nicci, Sarah, Serrah, VA, Jamz (homepage), Jennifer W., Lindsey (homepage), Sparkly-Eyes, and Snotgoblin! Don't you just feel honoured and happy all over that your name's on my site? :-) If I left anyone out, I invite them to come over here and kick my ass for being so rude! And don't forget to hit me in the face with a pie and put gum in my hair and pour motor oil down my pants. Make sure I learn a lesson!
Apple Macintosh computers are the leader in multimedia, compatibility, and speed. And now, the PowerPC G4 processor is here!!! And what does that mean? Simply put, it means that Apple has the fastest commercially available computers on the planet. And they run the well-known and loved Mac OS, and can run Windows 98 faster than any IBM-compatible can! Have you ever seen a computer with a 1,764-megahertz Pentium III processor? Well shit, neither have I, but that's what it would take to keep up with the speed of a new Power Macintosh G4 running only at 500 MHz! At the heart of Apple's new Power Macintosh G4 is a brand new microprocessor developed by a joint effort from Apple, Motorola, and IBM called the PowerPC G4 chip which takes advantage of new backside level-2 caching technology to deliver more than twice the speed of comparable low-end Pentium III chips. In fact, it's closer to three times as fast, using Intel's own benchmarks to rate the performance! It is also notable that the PowerPC G4 processor chip uses all copper traces for the electrical paths, instead of aluminim, to deliver even great reliability and speed! The PowerPC G4 is fast enough to be considered a supercomputer, because it is the first microprocessor which can deliver a sustained performance of over one gigaflop (which is one billion floating-point operations per second)! If you're an IBM-compatible user looking for speed, then you're using the wrong kind of computer!
Macintosh computers are also used by many moviemakers to create special effects and by artists, musicmakers, and desktop publishers worldwide.
You may say that Macintosh is not compatible with anything else. If you do, then you are 100% wrong!! The Mac OS comes with lots of translators which allow you to open, edit, and save to virtually any Windows or DOS file and convert between file formats. And Macintosh computers come with floppy drives that can read MFS, HFS, MS-DOS, and ProDOS disks. And with emulation software such as SoftWindows, Virtual PC, or RealPC, your Macintosh can even run DOS, OS/2, Windows 3.1, Windows '95, Windows '98, Windows 2000, and Windows NT 4.0 and any programs designed for those operating systems! The emulation packages work very well, and RealPC can make even your most performance-demanding PC games run even better on a Mac! Macintosh computers, of course, can also run the BeOS and Unix-based operating systems such as Linux. (By the way, if you're interested in Linux, it looks like PowerPC-based computers (Macs) may become the preferred RISC architecture for Linux.)

The Macintosh shall have its revenge!
(as soon as we get out of this damn monopoly and Microsoft is finally put to death)
The computer you are looking at is the Apple IIGS, one of the most revolutionary home computers known (and to many still unknown) to the world. Even though this computer is over 13 years old (introduced by Apple to the consumer on September 15, 1986), it can still render complex three-dimensional images, create presentations and animations, turn lights on and off and adjust the temperature in your house, play full-screen full-motion three-dimensional first-person-oriented games like Wolfenstein 3D, and even browse the World Wide Web. Its primary 16-bit operating system, GS/OS, uses a graphical user interface that is very similar to the Macintosh desktop metaphor. It even has its own Unix-based operating system!
The Apple IIGS is built around a 2.8-megahertz 65c816 16-bit processor, upgradeable to 15 MHz or faster and 64 KB of L2 cache with a customized accelerator card. That may not sound fast to you, but with this particular processor and the light overhead of its operating environment, it FLIES! This computer sports 4-bit colour graphics and full stereo 8-bit sound, both of which were unheard of in 1986! The IIGS is a rival to the Amiga in terms of graphics capability (it can display all Apple II resolutions plus two "super hi-res" resolutions, 320x200 pixels and 640x400 pixels, with a maximum of 3200 colors onscreen at any given time), and a rival to high-end music sythesizers of its time with a 32-channel (usually in 16 stereo voices) stereo Ensoniq 5503 DOC sound chip (the same synthesizer chip found in many of Ensoniq's high-end synthesizers at the time!). (Ensoniq Corp. has now been acquired by Creative Labs, the makers of the Sound Blaster series of sound cards for IBM-compatibles.) It also has full backward compatibility with all earlier Apple II models, meaning it can run software AND use hardware designed for earlier Apple II models. Depending on when the system was bought, it came with a either 256K or 1 MB of RAM built into the motherboard as a minimum, and is expandable to 16 MB. The Apple IIGS offers expandability beyond many modern computers. It has seven expansion slots to add new interface cards, and a card has been designed for nearly every task. But the abilities of this computer are not something that can be easily transcribed; the only way to find the true magic of the system is to experience it. If you can appreciate vintage computer systems, this computer will amaze you with all of its shocking capabilities!
I personally own a ROM 3 Apple IIGS with 3 MB of RAM, a TransWarp GS accelerator, a Sonic Blaster GS sound output enhancement and input sampling card, an Apple II High Speed SCSI Card and a 500 MB hard drive, a Gibson Light Pen, and tons of software. I play games on it and play around with it regularly, and I am always adding new stuff to it. What can I say? I have IIGS fever!

Try my favourite search engines:
MetaCrawler (part of the Go2Net network): This search engine is like 10 engines in one! When you enter search text, MetaCrawler sends the search to Lycos, Webcrawler, Excite, Yahoo!, Altavista, InfoSeek, LookSmart, the Mining Co., and Thunderstone, and organizes all of the results by relevance and puts them in a readable list, with comments on each search result. It's way kewl!! Also, you can use the Go2Net page that MetaCrawler is on as a "starting off" or "home" page for all of your Net adventures. It's got everything!
